CHURCHES TOGETHER SUMMER FAIR – Saturday 12 July, from 12 – 4pm, in the Catholic Church grounds. To be opened by Don Shaw. Please come and support this – lunches and refreshments are available too. We do need items for the following stalls:- plants, fruit and vegetables, cakes, books, groceries, toys and games. Raffle prizes are also required. Please bring them along on the morning of the event. Also needed are some more volunteers to help on stalls, particularly produce and groceries. If you can help, please contact me. Eileen Wade, (tel. 516408)

MMA COUNCIL – See leaflet distributed recently, with information about this. We need three people with vision and enthusiasm to enable All Saints and St John’s to work together in mission and ministry. (MMA stands for Mission and Ministry Area.) See Alan for details.

ALL SAINTS RAMBLERS - will be walking on Saturday, 12 July, meeting on the church car park at 9.00am. The ramble will be in the Peak District and about three and a half miles, followed by a pub lunch (menu available). If you are joining us, please tick the list at the back of the church.. THANK YOU! I wanted to say thank you to everyone for your support when I was ordained Priest. Thank you to all of you who came to the service at Wirksworth or were present at the Sunday service and lunch. Particular thanks to all those involved in providing transport and catering. I am really grateful to you all – your support helped to make it a very special weekend. Mary Staunton

CHURCH CLEANING - Thank you to all those who have given up their time, over the years, to help clean our church. We are now in need of more volunteers to join the rota starting in September. If you can spare just one hour every other month (approximately), please leave a message for me or phone me on Derby 514472. Thank you. Celia Cullen

THE MOTHERS UNION – is holding its annual meeting at the Winding Wheel, Chesterfield, on 15 July. Is it possible for Mother’s Union members to contribute to a bottle stall, to be held at the above event please? Items can be given to Christine Pickering, Molly Heap or me. Brenda Bradbury (Secretary)

“RACE FOR LIFE” – Many thanks to everyone who sponsored Stephanie and myself for the fund raising event for cancer research. We have just sent off a cheque for £630. One of the reasons that we ran was for my very good friend Eleanor Essay, whose name you may recognise from the prayer list. She has now finished her treatment for breast cancer and her Consultants prognosis was ‘not just good, but excellent’. We are all thankful to God and to you at All Saints for your prayers and Eleanor says a big thank you. Caroline Ward

“BACK TO CHURCH” SUNDAY – 28th September will be an opportunity for all of us to invite to church someone we know, who used to attend, but hasn’t done for a while. It may be someone who used to come to All Saints, or someone who belonged to another church, but has never attended since moving to Mickleover. There will be invitations available for this over the summer, but now is the time to begin to pray about who you could invite and bring to church on that Sunday.

LAMBETH CONFERENCE – Leaflets and prayer cards are available at the back of church.

DIOCESAN PRAYER FESTIVAL – Saturday 27 September at St Mary’s Wirksworth, 10am to 4pm. Leaflets about this will be available soon. Or, for more information, visit the diocesan website www.derby.anglican.org .

CERTIFICATE IN CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP – Leaflets about this course are available in the Church Centre. Suitable for anyone who wants to deepen their Christian faith and commitment, or for any who are exploring future ministry possibilities.

ST.JOHN’s CHURCH FLOWER FESTIVAL – will be held on Saturday to Monday, 9-11 August. Theme “An August Wedding”. Please see Church Centre notice board for more details.
